The kids over at Korg are a savvy bunch -- they know that the best way to perk up jaded bloggers (such as ourselves) is to somehow attach an iPhone to their device. Unfortunately, what we thought at first glance was an innovative/insane new way to make music on Apple's flagship handset turns out to be, in fact, little more than a sampler with a pocket for your media player and a 1/4-inch audio input. While we have you here, however, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that, as samplers go, this one is pretty awesome. Featuring a 37-key keyboard, a number of sample modes (including autonext mode, which auto-magically slices a beat into individual hits, not unlike Propellerhead's ReCycle), a preset sound library, 21 KAOS-driven multi-parameter effects, and a USB cable for managing sounds on your Mac or PC (with the included Editor Librarian software), this could be the perfect companion for the microKORG that's already collecting dust in your bedroom. Super Quick and Portable Sub-Notebook

For the seasoned traveler Averatec has rolled out an 11.1-inch ultra-portable notebook, packing a snappy processor into a super portable frame

The 11.1-inch machine features a 1.06GHz Intel Core Duo U2400 processor, WXGA resolution, 1GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, 802.11a/b/g, and a flash card reader that plays nice with SD, MMC, MS, and MSPro. No word on battery life as yet, we’ll have to wait for the machine to start shipping before reports start revealing more.

This nifty machine is more than capable of handling simple Microsoft Word documents or emails and by adding an external display many could turn this into their main desktop and portable workstation.

It retails for $1,275, not much more than Apple’s closest rivaling 13.3-inch MacBook at $999.

AIRWOLF Helicopter Replica

I may be dating myself here, but I loved Airwolf. Correct that – I love Airwolf. Was it the best television show of the 80s? Possibly, and definitely better than Knight Rider or Street Hawk (for those of you under the age of 30, these were other, lesser super-vehicles that had their own television shows during the same time period).

And now, now I can live out my wildest dreams with this remote-controlled Airwolf helicopter replica. Designed to look exactly like Airwolf, this black beauty oozes coolness. Plus, it flies (Flying = 10,000 awesome points).

It’s fully licensed, totally remote controlled and it flies like a helicopter. It goes up, down, backwards, forwards, left, right and uses tri-band technology and counter-rotating rotors to do it. That means extra stability, greater control and one smooth ride. It even has tiny little missiles strapped to the bottom (note: missiles do not, unfortunately, fire).

There’s one downside to this working Airwolf replica, it charges in as little as 20-30 minutes, but it only runs for between 6-9 minutes at a time. Great if you want to play with your remote controlled helicopter in short bursts, but not so great if you want to spend an afternoon invoking the spirit of Stringfellow Hawke.
